This place is great if you either live in the white plains area, or if you are willing to drive here via the Hutchinson River Parkway or the Bronx River Parkway. Noda's is great because there is a lot more room than Edo's in New Rochelle. In other words, you can bring a bunch of friends and not feel cramped. The food is reasonably priced. Price-wise, it's in between. Not cheap, but not expensive either. You can get a combination platter for the hibachi (e.g. shrimp and scallops, chicken and shrimp), and the price range is anywhere between 25-40 bucks. Another great aspect of Noda's is the portions. Some of the people in our group of nine shared combination platters because the portions are so big. We couldn't even finish our main course when you factor in the mushroom soup and the salad that arrived before the meal. The staff was attentive and friendly. The waitress didn't have an attitude when we mentioned that we wanted to split the check at the end of the meal. Had some green tea that was a bit too bitter for my taste, but it was drinkable. Our hibachi chef was personable, witty, charming, and entertaining. The only down side to Noda's is the area. Since we arrived at the restaurant at 9pm, parking was easily accessible and free. Before 9pm in White Plains, parking is harder to come by because Noda's is in the middle of a busy shopping and business district. Also, since it was a Friday night, the atmosphere was loud with rowdy, younger people, presumably from nearby Berkley College. Besides these minute annoyances, I definitely recommend Noda's

The sushi was ok. Definitely not worth repeating given better choices in the area (i.e.- Wasabi.) I'm also upset because they "technically" deliver, but the 2nd time I tried to order delivery, the woman told me the delivery guy refused to drive to me again because at 10 minutes away, I was too far a drive. Seriously?! That is what the tip is for!

I have been there multiple times and the service is always extremely attentive and very nice. I always get the sushi, which is pretty average. It has enough room for large groups but nice for and is never overly crowded.

I don't normally eat Asian food. Most local places gross me out... Not Noda. The food here is excellent. Sushi is super fresh, menu is diverse and quality is top notch. I haven't tried the habachi yet so I can't comment on that but this place is great.

There are separate entrances but none work- you have to go around through the main area. We were there for the sushi and had to walk through the hibachi section so we ended up smelling like food even though we were eating in another area completely. The sushi was ok. Nothing to write home about or brag about. The waitress could care less but it was a Sat night after all. She was decent but nothing special. Just like this place. Maybe I'll go back for hibachi....maybe.

Hubby and I have been going to Noda's since they opened over 25 years ago. Noda used to cook for us and I still look for him in his red hat whenever we go. The habachi is the best, so worth the trip for us. Food is plentiful, steaks are great qualityand cook up tender. Hubby loves the sushi. Many habachi restuarants turn out food that is too oily and meat unchewable. Not Nodas. It's the best. Wait staff is superb, friendly and fast. Water glass is never empty long, dishes cleared quickly. Highly recommend!

I think one of the best Japanese restaurants. I think one of the movie scene happened their. It's known as the wolf of the Wall Street. However, the food was delicious especially the sirloin steak and chicken hibachi. Also, their sushi was outstanding. You must try it! If you don't try it you miss it!

The hibachi is really good! Went with my sister and they were really accommodating to her shellfish allergy, they offered to make her steak and chicken in the kitchen but she'd never been to a hibachi place and wanted the experience of having her food cooked in front of her. The chef was really nice and cooked her steak and chicken before the shellfish, he even joked that his lawyer was on vacation, so if she wanted to pass out to do so later, which made my sister laugh way too loud. The food was excellent! For the price you actually get a lot of food, we had to wrap it up and take the rest home. The chefs all have their own style and really interact with their guest, which is how hibachi should be. They are also kid friendly, the chef joked around with the toddler at the table and made special kid portions of rice and vegtables for him and even cut up his chicken into bite sized pieces he wouldn't choke on, which his parents were super grateful for. The reason I only gave it four stars was because I haven't tried the sushi yet and when I do I will most definitely update my review. I'm almost positive their sushi will just be as awesome as the hibachi.

not the best habachi, just ok. Soup tasted like it was made from boxed mix. Ginger dressing on the salad was watery and over dressed. Vegis and rice were the high light.

  • Danni I.

The place was kind of dingy and smelled. But surprisingly, when we left, we didn't smell, considering we did hibachi. The sushi was very fresh. If you're into chirashi, it's served a bit differently. They serve a cup of sushi rice on the plate, then surround it with the sashimi. I enjoyed this more than the hibachi.

We generally go to NODA when there is a birthday. Birthdays and Noda's are taken for granted in our family. Its not, where should we go? We just always go. Never a disappointment and the staff always remembers us which makes it extra special. Some reviews state silly things like it is not authentic Japanese but I could care less, Its always a wonderful experience and for us that is all that matters. I hope to come more often when its not for a birthday.

I know it says I've only checked in here twice-- but I always just forgot because I've been here so frequently- about 25 times. My boyfriend and I are regulars and for good reason. We have only come for the sushi but we hear how awesome it sounds in the other room for hibachi. The sushi is ALWAYS good, sometimes exceptional! There has never been a time where we walked away feeling unsatisfied. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. The owner, because we come so often, now comes to greet us. All of the staff know our drink orders and come right out with it as we sit down. I will be moving soon and I must say I'm going to miss this place sooo much. The sushi, the consistency of a guaranteed good meal and the family feel. I HIGHLY recommend Noda!

Found this place on Yelp, had the worst sushi ever. The service was poor as well - the waiters barely paid any attention to us. The restaurant was clearly owned by Chinese, and the shrimp and crab were fake meat. The sushi did not look presentable, and was a disgusting temperature. My salad was poorly cut - there were still large chunks of lettuce. The soup was bland as well. The shrimp dumplings were absurdly foul. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the price was decent for a meal of this size.

  • Doug G.

Fake Japanese food. What a shame. Can't taste the fish. Even the "spicy tuna" wasn't. Miso soup had chlorine taste and lacked dashi. Tempura sauce smelled. Noda salad was awful. I complained to the manager, and their reaction ranged from indifferent to defensive. These folks (Chinese) took over the restaurant from Mr. Noda 11 years ago, but I'm sure it's nothing like what he left. And what is with calling teppan cooking "Hibachi"???? They are two entirely different things!! That's like calling stir-fried food "grilled"! 鉄板 vs. 火鉢. Our experience was SO awful at this place, they have no right to call their food "Japanese". It is nothing of the sort.

Had a great time at Noda. The staff was really nice, great service, and the food was really good. We had hibachi, and we didn't wait long to get more people at the table. The meal includes ice cream!

  • Knah A.

Sushi was good, however, minus 1 star for charging $2 PER SODA. Not crowded during lunch. I will not be back as I don't patronize establishments that grossly overcharge for each non-alcoholic beverage.

  • Danielle A.

Compared to the other options in the area NODA is pretty damn good. It would of been better if I dined in but the weather was gross and I opted for takeout. I ordered the Chicken teriyaki bento box dinner. The portions were adequate and the taste was average/good.

We came to Noda after a long day in the sun in NJ. I always think of sushi as a light/refreshing meal, somewhat comforting and it's easy to overdo it if you eat too much in one sitting. Anyway, Noda was a friend's recommendation, as I was with a group of regulars. As these regulars are also foodies, I knew I was in for a treat! Noda does both hibachi and sushi. Their sushi room is separate to the rest of the restaurant and thus offering two different dining experiences in the same space. BF and I split two apps and three specialty rolls - fried calamari, beef negimaki, mexican roll, noda special roll, and salmon pangko maki roll. Everything was great. The sauce for the fried calamari was particularly nice, as was the noda special roll. The salmon pangko roll was a little weird. It was okay but not my favorite. After dinner was finished we had no room for dessert, nor did they have any red bean ice cream left to serve :( Overall it's a great recommendation for White Plains if you're ever in the area. They're very accommodating there.

We have been to Noda for more than 10 years. There are a lot of regular customers and that is not without a reason. Their salad sauce is the best! Chefs are great and friendly. Their fried rice is great (ask for a little bit of garlic). I recommend every dishes. They are all very good! The portion is large so don't over-order.

This is the best hibachi restaurant around. I have been going here since I was a kid with my family and I still haven't found a place I like more. The hibachi is phenomenal and the service is good. It does not dissapoint.

Noda's is a fantastic restaurant with excellent service and tasty food! I have thrown a few parties there and they were very nice and accommodating to all my guests who can be overwhelming at times! Very entertaining too, the chefs are very funny and the food is amazing, you definitely want to come to Noda's if you have not already ; )

I came here with a few coworkers on a Wednesday, with the only requirement being that we needed raw fish. We all ordered various rolls, mine being the chef's choice roll. The entrees came with a soup and salad starter. The miso was standard for most Japanese places, the salad was the typical iceberg topped with a gingery dressing. We also had a nice edamame appetizer as well. I wasn't too pleased with my entree. I got 8 nigiri with salmon, tuna, snapper and some other whitefish and a handmade roll with what appeared to be tuna, carrot and avocado. It wasn't.... tasty. I guess others jump at fried food of any sort, but I suspect that their fryer takes all sorts of food, for it managed to blanket any sort of flavor whatsoever. Another thing that irked me was one of my whitefish nigiri was completely inedible, with dark gray and reddish musculation where it should have been pure white. For being a chef's choice, it puzzles me why someone would choose to put this on a plate. The service is great. A bit shy, but our drinks never reached bottom, even the small sake glasses of delicious cloudy rice wine. The rolls also came fast and everything was cleared quickly in a friendly manner. The ambiance is interesting. There is a fully stocked bar, and two large aquariums alongside a wall. The whole restaurant is set halfway underground, so you walk down a few steps, and if you choose seats near the window, you'll have a tire-level view of one of the main throughfares of White Plains. Otherwise, the walls have stock Japanese framed landscapes. I did not see the steakhouse section. The prices are reasonable ($12 for almost two rolls of the chef's choice with a salad and miso) and they give you a 15% coupon for your next visit when in. The parking situation is a bit less than ideal, being street (bring quarters) or a lot that charges $7. But it's in downtown White Plains, so it's to be expected. Not bad, but if you are looking for food quality and ambiance is not on the list, I recommend Young's Chinese and sushi in Tarrytown.

I came here for a celebration hibachi dinner with a friend, and I'm glad I did! To sum it up, it was a calm atmosphere, great food, and very attentive service. Although we had to share a hibachi table with others (as one often does at a hibachi restaurant), the staff was kind enough to space the parties out. I've been to places before where you are bumping elbows with a stranger as you eat your meal. No thanks. My shrimp was delicious, and my friend loved his scallops (although he said they were a little too salty). I'll definitely be returning!

This place is awesome, the food is awesome the inside of the place is very relaxing not tight like some similar spots tend to be. The staff are super-friendly, or maybe we've just went there so many times they actually know us now lol. I don't yelp much but I have to come here every time I am in NY. And I go to NY a lot. NODA rocks has yet to disappoint.

My girlfriend went to this place for an early dinner with one of her friends, she told me she enjoyed it and that I have to try it too. Being that today is her birthday, I treated her to an early dinner. I was really impressed. First time I've been in a place where my food was prepared for me right in front of me. I have to say it takes quite a bit to impress me, I am a Line Cook, so actually sitting down and eating in a place is a little boring to me. I was NOT bored this time. We had a whole table to ours elf, since it opens on Saturday at 5pm and our reservations was for 5pm. I had the steak, and I am not that much of a steak eater, but I will tell you one thing for sure though. If I am ever to have steak again, Noda's is the ONLY place I will go and have it. Nothing like having your steak prepared before your eyes and placed on your plate.I had the fried rice. and you know what I noticed...then it could be me. MORE places need to ADD eggs to their fried rice like they USE TO DO in the old days!! Surely I will return to try the rest of the menu. My hat is tipped to our hibachi chef , he was so funny.

If you are looking for authentic Japanese restaurant, this is not a place for you to go. Typical American-Japanese style Hibachi + sushi joint. If you know Asian food well enough and looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant, you wouldn't wanna eat here.... Go to NYC!!! I tried steak and lobster hibachi- they were both tasteless. They were edible but worst Hibachi I have eaten in this country.

My white plains go to sushi place - am always here and am always satisfied with the price and the quality of fish. I am a huge sushi/sashimi fan - besides the restaurant nanase which I have yet to try simply because I can never afford it -- I have been to every place in White Plains that incorporates raw fish into their food. And a lot of other places in Westchester -- but for WP, Noda's is great. The chicken curry is also pretty good -- hibachi is fun but I never think hibachi is worth the price you pay for the food, you pay more for the entertainment value. They also give you coupons for delivery and dine-in and that helps us regulars out a lot. It is very reasonably priced and portions are quite large for sushi platters - the sashimi deluxe is awesome and comes with a lot of pieces so be prepared to be full. You can skip out on dessert though, think you're better off going to the Chinese supermarket in the same complex to get some of the same desserts.

Great place for any occassion. Food is fantastic, wait staff is not so great, but you only depend on them for drinks, so it won't ruin the experience. Their take-out hibachi lunch is a really good alternative; no entertainment, but more than enough food and it's a well-presented, not too expensive meal (and a half).

I am not a Teppanyaki fan per se, but we have young kids that beg for it every weekend so we eat here quite often. The ingredients are fresh and good quality (I can speak only to the hibachi- I haven't had the sushi). The chefs are skilled and a lot of fun- our food is always properly seasoned and cooked to perfection. They have no difficulty with special orders. The service is very attentive and friendly. The menu is quite large for a restaurant of this type, and the items we have ordered have always been tasty. The premises are fairly clean- you don't feel greasy when you leave! All in all a very solid spot for this type of cuisine; definitely the best in Westchester.

I went to Noda for hibachi with co-workers. Overall, it was perfectly fine and I would go back. It wasn't the best hibachi I have had but still enjoyable. The bar offers half price drinks during happy hour - which works out well for the sake. Nice plus. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The scallop and lobster hibachi meal I had was pretty good - very lemon-y. Why did I give it 3 stars? It was OK - nothing spectacular. The location is in the sketchy White Plains mall so I would suggest you venture here with a buddy. Unfortunately I could still taste the meal the next morning. Also, I was a little bummed that they only make tempura ice cream with vanilla ice cream - the place back home makes it with green tea ice cream. Which is the best. Bottom line - if you are in the mood for hibachi, Noda won't disappoint but its not the best I've had. One note about parking - you have to pre-pay (cash only) and then Noda will validate, at which point the parking attendant will give your money back.

This is a decent little place for sushi. It's probably better known for Hibachi and I haven't tried that yet- just the sushi. The restaurant is split into the sushi section and the considerably larger hibachi area. The sushi was more reasonably priced than the trendy places on Mamaroneck however the quality was quite satisfactory. I eat a lot of sushi and have pretty good palate for it - the sushi here was not really fancy but the quality of the fish was fresh and the prices were pretty good. Also, the drink prices were lower than elsewhere. So basically, this place isn't trendy per se, but if you just want a reasonably priced and decent place to eat you won't really go wrong here.

My family went to Noda's to celebrate my mother's 50th. Most of us had the hibachi, the rest ordered sushi. The staff was super friendly and the food very good. I like restaurants with personality, which it certainly had. It's across the street from the Ritz-Carlton, tucked away from high traffic areas. It was not over crowed either, I'd go again with a large group of people.

I decided to order the Hibachi Chicken Dinner after reading several favorable reviews of Noda and was disappointed. I have eaten at several different Hibachi restaurants in Ohio and enjoyed the food immensely. I assumed that Hibachi this close to a culinary mecca such as NYC would be at least excellent, if not mind blowing...I was wrong. The miso soup was bland and oily tasting. The salad was forgettable and the ginger dressing was just satisfactory. I was given the choice of white rice or fried rice but not informed that the fried rice would cost me extra. I wouldn't have minded paying extra if the rice had been good but it was greasy and had an odd taste to it. The sauces that were served with the main course were not like anything that I have had before, and not in a good way. The addition of eggplant to the vegetables was not good as the eggplant was spongy and tasted like feet. The chicken was served in a sauce that was extrememly salty and my lips actually burned after I was done eating. I only gave this restaurant a 2 star review because I had this food delivered and I'm sure that the food might be a tiny bit better eaten at the grill after the show.

Expensive -- but some of the best Teppanyaki cooking I have seen. Make reservations because they get busy. The food is delicious, the show is awesome, and the area is nice. I recommend going for the filet mignion and shrimp -- the lobster is better saved for a different restaurant. Plus -- watching the chef devein and remove the tails of the shrimp by spinning the knife three times was amazing.

I have been going to Noda's for years and when I moved to white plains I was so excited to live within deivery of it! I have eaten their sushi (shrimp tempura, alaska, and philadelphia roll rock!) and am obsessed with their hibachi. The sauce they use is AMAZING and no other hibachi I have had compares....chicken, steak and shrimp hibachi are all amazing..I usually get filet mignon for steak. Their fried rice is a dream as well...highly recommend as I have it once a month for years and never had a bad meal!

NODA is one of my favorite sushi spots in White Plains. The food is consistently delicious. There never seems be a wait so you can always walk in and be served quickly. I usually go for the spicy tuna/spicy yellowtail rolls. The specialty rolls are priced a bit higher than the basic rolls. They can run you around $10-$12. My favorite specialty roll has to be the Spicy King Roll. If you're in the mood a nice relaxing, casual place to eat, NODA is the place to go. I highly recommend it.

I'm heading here tomorrow night... review to come soon! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tis tomorrow night and I just got back from here... I have to say, I'm disappointed. My friend made it out to be this great place but it wasn't really all that great. It's in the part of White Plains where the DMV is, in that little mall there. It's almost in the basement and its super dark, but not the ambience kind of dark, just plain dark. The first room you walk into is where you can order sushi and then the other room is the hibachi I guess... we were getting sushi and apparently you're only allowed to sit in that first room which I thought was bogus. Soo... we sat down at a two top, ordered steamed shrimp dumplings, waters and three rolls each. You get 8 pieces in a roll here, even in the specialty rolls... we each got a specialty roll (mine was eel with cucumber with avocado wrapped around the outside) and two regular rolls (mine were the boston roll and the philly roll, i like the state rolls, what can I say?!) I remember one was $6 and the other $5.50 and the specialty roll was $9. Anyways... for the 6 rolls and the appetizer (which was actually really good and they even put a real baby shrimp on top of each dumpling for aesthetic I guess) came out to cost $43 so we each paid $25 or so with tip. Downfall: It took FOREVER to get our food. We came in at 7pm and I dont think we got our sushi till 8pm. There were only two chefs who worked at snail speed and the businessmen that sat down before us ended up ordering this elaborate plate of food which probably slowed our order down even more... It wasn't that busy either and by the time we left it was almost empty. I didnt see the other room so I don't know how that was, just kept hearing a gong going off. Worst part, the sushi, as long as it took to make, wasn't anything all that great and it was falling apart on us as we were eating it. It wasn't very well made and it didnt look that appetizing when you first looked at it (other than the specialty roll). The waitress didn't ask that much how things were going, actually, come to think of it she never asked... but they did come over to refill the water so they were attentive with that... Pluses: Attentive with water refilling... the appetizer came out pretty fast... plenty of open seats.... seems on the cleaner side.... large variety of rolls.... (altho they didnt have that many entrees other than sushi but I'm going to take a guess and say that's because we were in the "sushi" room and not in the main dining room) I'd give it 2 stars but the prices and the fact that its sushi boosts it up to 3 (I guess I just can't be that harsh!) I'm still not sure if I'd recommend it though to go and try... maybe I need to visit the other room and see how things are there, if there's a different menu, etc

My friends and I decided to go for hibachi. The hostess was nice and very friendly. She seated us down within 5 minutes. Our waitress decided to lecture us on how we should order in a condescending way. I don't recall asking for her opinion on what I should eat and how much we should get. She basically gave us an attitude throughout the night. The hibachi chef was great. If I do come back, she will not be serving us.

I've been coming to Noda for years and I've never had to wait to be seated. The atmosphere is relaxing and the music is at a tolerable level to both enjoy and still converse without distraction. The sushi is grade A although once in awhile, blue moon days, the sushi (I.e. California rolls) will be quite loose for chopsticks alone. The bar is simple with a few tables if you desire having thoughts to yourself with the decor, tv, and 2 fish tanks to watch. Mon-Thursday is happy hour with half off on drinks, $1 off top shelf, and 15% off food ordered at the bar. Not a huge variety, but to most peoples needs (I.e. don't ask for a drink that requires peppered vodka or coffee wise). Service is always attentive and the managers are good folk as well; Matt & Baum (sry if I misspelled). I give it 4/5 only because all I've ever eaten is from the sushi menu and have yet to try the hibachi. But I guess I owe that to their GODLY Monster rolls. All in all this is my go to place to relax after work.

Terrible! Terrible! Our family's been going there for years, when Mr Noda owned the Resturant. My sister even worked there! It was the best Japanese steak house around. Now there's Chinese white rice, fake "fillet", Chinese mustard sauce, instead of authentic Japanese sauces. The fried rice is no longer Japanese fried rice, more like Chinese fried rice with no seasoning. They added broccoli to the stir fry that changes the taste that NODAS Japanese stir fried veggies used to have. They don't even sing "Happy Birthday" in Japanese. I don't know what language it is, but I do know, IT IS NO LONGER A JAPANESE STEAK HOUSE, because we are Japanese. I do not recommend this Resturant. Find an authentic one if you really want Japanese food. I can only imagine what's changing in the sushi/sashimi menu to make it appear so fresh, (when corners are cut and food is "stretched" out by adding fillers)

Been here with the family over a dozen times. Of all the hibachi restaurants nearby, this one, by far, has the friendliest staff. They give out coupons for subsequent visits which keeps the price down. The show is consistent and always good. Sometimes the show at other places is a little better and sometimes the food seems a little better but for all-around consistency and friendliest staff, go to Noda.

Went Friday October 11 for lunch with my husband and mother in law, it was about 130p when we were seated. We were seated at a hibachi and one other man joined us. There was another table already eating. Pic ordered filet and shrimp. The soup was just average but the salad was yummy and fresh. My filet was rare as request and the shrimp were good. You get choice of white or brown rice or upgrade for small cost to fried rice. They also give veggies and bean sprouts. Our chef was nice and did his funny show while cooking. Lunch portions are good size for the price. Restaurant is a little dated in decor but still a good meal and a good time. Hasn't gone in a long time. Don't forget validation from restaurant to get free parking in lot. Otherwise $6 for parking,

I liked the taste of the sushi I had there. Nothing fancy but good enough for me to want to go back. It's in the old and kinda run-down White Plains Mall but inside the restaurant it was nice and the staff was friendly.

Solid hibachi and sushi and fairly priced. Inside could use a cleanup/remodel but food is always good. Wish sushi was a hair more consistent but specialty rolls are all usually on point.

The food was pretty good. Left me missing the yum yum sauce from Genji in Ohio though. But, the place needs to update their fish tanks and vent system. So much smoke was surrounding our table, we couldn't even see each other. But, the hibachi chef was very entertaining and great with our two year old son.

The food was fresh and delicious! The hibachi chef is very funny and gave me and my friends a good show! The food is decently priced for what you get. I highly reccomend you going here. Also,if youre a student im pretty sure you get a discount.

So where do I start? the place looks very new age with a few hints of traditional Japanese fare. The service is incredible and the food is ALWAYS top notch. In fact when I look back on it I can never think of a time when I was ever disappointed about this place. But maybe it's because every trip to this hibachi gem I always requested the same chef, Bom(I think thats how his name is spelled lol). Although I'm sure the other chefs here are good, this guy is a genius at what he does, preparing our food like a skilled ninja of the highest order. He's also very cordial and likes to talk about sports and other things in life. I found out about the place through a freind of mine and I've been hooked ever since. Bom is always generous to pile our dishes w/ heaps of beef/shrimp/or lobster medallions. He's never too cheap on the veggies either, a fine mix of onions, eggplants, zucchini, mushrooms, and bean sprouts that culiminate in the ultimate orgy of flavor. There's also a nice bar area that make some pretty kick ass drinks if your interested in a little pre-gaming while your waiting to be seated. I've taken a few people there and I got nothing but positive feedback. A definite must for anybody who's seeking fine hibachi with a great sushi selection and friendly service. The BEST place for this kind of cuisine in my most honest and humble opinion ;-) PS. ASK FOR BOM!! ;-)

I have yet to find a Japanese Hibachi Restaurant that is as good as Noda's! The meat is prime and fresh...the service is wonderful! I have been going there for many years and will continue to go there! I highly recommend eating there!

Had a craving for Hibachi in Westchester County, NY. After enlisting our smart phones for a search of the best options, we came across Noda's, which was well reviewed. We can see why. On a cold Saturday night right before Christmas, we enjoyed the best kickoff meal to the holiday season we could have possibly imagined. The service was fantastic. The Chef (Suzuki) was expert, attentive and really fun. But it's the food that wins the five stars. Fresh, ample portions, sumptuous medleys of chicken, filet mignon and salmon... to die for. If you're craving hibachi, you must try Noda's. And like us, you'll probably be coming back soon. ps as far as the decor goes, it was warm, atmospheric and the kids enjoyed watching the fish in the lobby.

Great Japanese hibachi and sushi restaurant located in downtown White Plains, New York,. I came here in November 2008 to celebrate my father's 82nd birthday and the staff was extremely wonderful in making him feel special, especially after becoming a widower earlier that year. With excellent hibachi chefs who prepare your meal in front of your eyes and a wide selection of sushi/sashimi selections, Noda truly delivers. As I resided in the northern Bronx at the time of my visit, this restaurant is the closest Japanese restaurant for residents in that part of the borough and southern Westchester County. Excellent selection of Sushi rolls (Spicy Tuny and Philadelphia are my faves) and great table service are also pluses. Highly Recommended!

We been here many many times for the past 5 years. The food and service was always good. I alway order steak with lobster tail and I alway enjoyed it. Dinner came with shrimps, rice and vegetables. Saturday can be crowded and you may need to wait to be seat. Price is fair for what you order.

I loved the hibachi; however, I got food poisoning from it. Not coming back.

My friends and I decided to throw a birthday get together for my roommate here. We called, made a reservation for 9:15 for Wednseday night. We knew it was a late hour, especially in the middle of the week, but the hostess said it was no problem and accepted our reservation. When we got to the restaurant we realized we were in for an awkward night. The door was locked when we approached it. After knocking for a little bit, a waitress came and kindly greeted us. As she showed us to our table, I quickly realized that my freinds and I were the only ones in the restaurant. The place had been mostly shut down and they had to relight one of the habichi tables. There is nothing more uncomfortable than knowing a place just wants you out. Nonetheless, the wait staff was super friendly to us. They happily took our drink orders, joked around with us and really tried to make us feel comfortable. However, the habichi chef was a totally different story. The chef came out stomping his feet with a very noticeable scowl on his face. He slammed his tools in the stove, looked at my friends and I then said, "Who makes a reservation at 9:15? I work all day you know." As you might imagine, it instantly made all six of us very, very uncomfortable. This man was about to cook a meal for us and he already decided he didn't like us. As he began to cook the rice, my friend to my left had ordered fried brown rice. I don't know if the waitress misunderstood or if my roommate had ordered incorrectly, but she was served regular brown rice by the waitress. My roommate then asked the chef if it would be a problem if he simply took her rice and put it on the grill with the rest if our orders. This is when the chef started screaming at my friend, "You want fried rice now!? You know to know what you order. Fried rice and brown rice are different. You can't come in here and change your mind like that!" He then called the waitress over, ripped the bowl of rice out of my friend's hand and shoved it at the waitress. He then barked for her to go get new rice. As we waited for her return, he then began to lecture my friend in the differences between brown and white rice. This went on for about five minute and my friend simply gave up trying to explain the miscommunication. We all went dead silent and turned to our phones to communicate with each other. As we sent each other "what the hell us this guy's problem?" texts, the waitress returned with the bowl of new rice for the chef. The chef in the meantime continued cooking without a word. He occasionally looking up at us and shook his head. After he had cooked all of our food, he pointed at my friend whose birthday it was and said, "You want birthday fried icecream? Seven dollars." My friends and I were furious. We had prearranged the birthday treat before hand and now he had told the birthday girl how much her treat was. Not cool. As he packed up and left, he had one last nasty thing to say. "Don't come back here so late next time. People work hard and want to go home." He then to our joy departed. The rest of experience was far more pleasant. The waitresses were super friendly and tried to make up for the chef's terrible behavior. Due to the fact that we were a large party, tip was already included but I wish I could have just given the tip to our lovely waitresses only. I understand we went late and I understand the being a group of kids is not something people look forward when tips are in question. However, my friends and I called ahead and made sure the time wouldn't be a problem. We just wanted to celebrate my friend's birthday and were instead subjected to unnecessary hostility. If you do not wish to work so late, do not take the reservation. We did not deserve the treatment we received from the chef and now, I'm sad to say, I do not wish to return here.

Such a good place for lunch! It does seem to get pretty busy, but the sushi is fresh and the price is right! Waiters are attentive and very nice.

Used to go to Noda's a lot back in the day, when my kids were young. We took a pretty long hiatus and have returned every once in a while over the past few years. A few years ago, the restaurant changed ownership. Towards the end of Noda's tenure, the space had become tired and dirty. The new owners have refurbished it and have put greater emphasis on the sushi bar. There are no surprises- it's the typical Japanese hibachi steakhouse. The food is well prepared. Our cook was nice. The soup, salad and grilled foods were all above average. The prices are reasonable. 3 course meals run from $20 to $30. We had a pleasant, nostalgic evening. My family is reconsidering its' infatuation with Korean table barbecue.

Everything was okay. The wait staff were actually too attentive and kept staring at me. Awkward. Then the check was wrong when they gave it back because we wanted separate checks. And they were unable to change it, which was super inconvenient. The atmosphere is very outdated.

Since I can remember, my family and I have been going to Nodas. As I got older it became a favorite spot and tradition for friends and I to visit say every break from college. I've been going there since Mr. Noda himself was there! I love their clear soup, ginger dressing. I hope they never change those recipes because they are the BEST I've ever tasted out of the various hibachi restaurants I've been, and one of the reasons I always go back! Staff is always so friendly and I always feel very welcomed. It's a fun restaurant with family and friends with good food. The only thing I wish is that the chefs were more interactive. Some of them are, but not all of them so I think for consistency, that is something the restaurant could work on a little bit. Besides for that, I'll continue to be a faithful customer to my Nodas.
